Kitchen organiser trays

A (mismatched) pair of small shelves (trays on legs?) for organising a few items on our kitchen benches.

Made from reclaimed wood from the frame of a hollow core bed-head.  This difficult to work. The heartwood is hard and pretty but difficult to work as it chips easily, and the sapwood was very soft and difficult to work without getting tear-outs and splitting.

First tray, blind mitred joints on the corners of this one.

Second tray incorporates a china dish.  Mitres have through-tenons which make alignment and assembly a bit easier.

Trays finished with beeswax
